Vintage Original Specifications means that this Les Paul Standard is built to the specs of an original 1958 Gibson Les Paul Burst. VOS hardware and parts have a slight patina to them that add to the overall feel of the guitar. Something about a well dial Gibson R8 that makes you question every other guitar that you ever played. Cosmetically, I can understand if it is just not your cup of tea - but when it comes to the playability and enjoyment of an electric guitar, a Gibson Les Paul '58 reissue is maybe the closest thing to perfect. This guitar is built to nearly the exact specifications as the ones made in 1958. The original '58-'60 Gibson Les Paul Standards came to be know as "Bursts" - named for the Sunburst finish that popularized the guitar with legends of the music world such as Jimmy Page, Paul McCartney, and Peter Green to name a few. Gibson's reissue models carry on the spirit of those music stylings that arguable helped mold pop culture especially in the 1960s - 1990s. Something just feels right when this guitars is pumping Hum-bucking power through a tube amplifier - maybe its because this guitar lets you tap in to that hidden "thing" that has inspired musicians for decades now to create some of the most iconic music to ever exist. This was their tool.
