Gibson's line of Custom Shop Les Paul re-issues are something special to say the least. Back in the year 1958, rock n' roll music was beginning to hit the mainstream and what began as a predominantly Jazz and ensemble guitar was transitioning into an era of gritty, fuzz driven rebellion. Thanks to the invention of the solid body guitar, a new wave of music would go on to span over six decades. 

The FIRST solid body guitar you ask? The Les Paul. 

  Playing a Les Paul Standard that is hand built to the specs of guitars that players such as Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Paul McCartney would have hand picked themselves in 1958 is what makes this one a special piece of my collection. The Gibson Les Paul brought a distinct sound to music that has lasted for well over 50 years and continues to progress music of all genres to this day. This '58 re-issue puts in your hands the same tool that legends used to transform music as we know it today. Progression is important! Let's keep moving forward, but let us not forget those of the past that got us to where we are today.
