The Fender Custom Shop '69 Stratocaster in Aged Firemist Red is a standout vintage-style build with a rare custom color and impeccable tone. Built in 2022 and sporting a Journeyman Relic finish, this guitar looks and feels like a well-loved original while offering all the benefits of a modern Custom Shop build. From its hand-wound '69 pickups to the ultra-comfortable late-'60s "U" neck profile, this Strat is a faithful tribute to the golden era of Fender.
Features:
Aged Firemist Red – Journeyman Relic Finish: This guitar features a rare Aged Firemist Red finish over an alder body, treated with Fender’s Journeyman Relic process for light checking, tasteful aging, and an effortlessly broken-in feel.
Hand-Wound ’69 Strat Pickups with Vintage Wiring: The trio of Custom Shop hand-wound ’69 Stratocaster pickups delivers that unmistakable late-'60s sound—sparkly highs, clear mids, and dynamic response. Vintage Modified Wiring with a reverse-wound middle pickup ensures hum-canceling in positions 2 and 4, with a classic 5-way switch layout.
1969 “U” Neck Profile & Maple Fingerboard: The rift-sawn maple neck features a large headstock and a comfortable 1969 “U” profile. Paired with a 9.5" radius maple fingerboard and 6105 narrow-tall frets, this neck plays fast while still feeling authentically vintage.
Custom Shop Build Quality: From the tonewood selection to the hardware (Schaller F-style tuners, vintage-style tremolo), every detail is executed to Fender Custom Shop standards.
Very Good Condition with Original Case and COA: This example is in very good condition, showing only the relic wear applied at the factory. It includes the original black tolex Custom Shop case, Certificate of Authenticity, case candy, and the original floor traveler.
Why We Think You'll Love It: Aged Firemist Red is a rarely seen custom color, and paired with the light relic treatment and vintage specs, this '69 Strat is as inspiring to look at as it is to play. Whether you’re chasing Hendrix tones or just want a Strat that blends classic vibe with Custom Shop quality, this one checks every box.
