Light-weight and Resonant

In the late winter months of 2006, Gibson introduced a new process called "chambering" to nearly every guitar in their arsenal. Chambering is the practice of removing some of the solid mahogany of the internal body of the guitar, usually in a circle "swiss cheese" like pattern.

Controversy over this practice is at the top of the peanut gallery for some and absolutely not a problem for others. Since Gibson Les Pauls are solid body guitars why would you ever remove ANY of the wood? The answer  Les Pauls are amongst the heaviest guitars on the market.

But I must say....because of weight relief this guitar has been a joy to play and nothing but friendly. Great balance and comfortable in most every setting! It has an absolutely stunning Honeyburst top that gracefully changes pattern riding with the light of day and two DiMarzio USA pickups that scream with tone! Weighing just over 6 lbs. and set up to perfect playability - this Les Paul rings like a bell and catches the eye of enthusiast and commoners alike!
