A killer example from the early boutique era of American guitar building, this 1980 Hamer Special is an all-original gem (minus a set of locking strap buttons) that showcases everything we love about vintage Hamers: bold design, quality construction, and powerful tone.

This one features a double cutaway mahogany body with a gorgeous flame maple flat-top in its original transparent amber finish—a look that’s become iconic among collectors. The original DiMarzio humbuckers deliver clear, muscular tones with vintage warmth and bite, perfect for players who want clarity without sacrificing character.

Condition is Good overall with no cracks, breaks, or structural repairs—just honest wear and fine lacquer checking throughout from years of real-world use. The original frets still have life left, but for serious play, a refret might be in the cards down the line.

It includes the original Hamer hardshell case, which shows plenty of wear but remains fully functional.

Professionally inspected and set up by our in-house tech Jordan, this vintage Hamer is stage-ready from the moment it arrives.

If you're hunting for a piece of early boutique guitar history that stands out both in tone and aesthetic, this is a fantastic find.
