A well-loved 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top, previously owned by Premier Guitar’s John Bohlinger. With its slim, fast neck, aged finish, and roaring mini-humbuckers, this Deluxe is a true vintage powerhouse — full of tone, character, and history.
This 1973 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe is the kind of guitar that tells a story before you even plug it in. Once owned by Premier Guitar’s own John Bohlinger, this Gold Top carries the scars, soul, and tone of a true working instrument — not a museum piece, but a player’s guitar through and through.
Following a professional headstock repair, the neck was sanded down and refinished, resulting in an ultra-slim, smooth “D” profile that plays fast and comfortably. The finish checking is especially striking — with hints of green running through the lines of the aged gold top, giving it that unmistakable vintage vibe you just can’t fake.
This guitar retains its original mini-humbuckers, which deliver articulate yet full-bodied tones that sit perfectly between PAF-style warmth and biting clarity. The bridge pickup measures 5.7k, while the neck clocks in at 6.0k — providing rich, balanced output across positions. The bridge, tailpiece, tuners, and switch cover have all been replaced over time, ensuring modern reliability while maintaining vintage integrity.
At 10.4 lbs, this is a substantial, resonant Les Paul that feels alive in your hands — full of sustain, depth, and midrange punch. Professionally set up here at NHP, it’s ready for stage or studio use right out of the case.
