The Gibson J-45 has long been known as “The Workhorse,” and this 1967 example proves exactly why. Worn in all the right ways and loaded with vibe, this guitar carries the stories of its past players while sounding absolutely alive in the hands.

This J-45 has been professionally restored and dialed in by our in-house tech Jordan here at NHP. An older headstock repair was performed years ago and later resprayed on the back of the neck for a clean, stable finish. All top and back cracks have been closed and re-secured, and every brace is now solid. The neck is straight, requiring no reset, and a fresh refret makes it play cleanly and comfortably up the entire board.

We also installed an LR Baggs Anthem pickup system, giving this guitar a high-end, natural amplified tone — perfect for the studio or stage. An old side-mount hole has been neatly plugged, preserving the instrument’s structural integrity and vintage aesthetic.

The result is a beautifully resonant, road-ready Gibson with that unmistakable mid-range warmth, dynamic response, and woody character that define a great J-45.
